Lead Designer for this concept.
Designed for Digit.
Digit were approached by Alice Temperley to pitch for; the planning, design and development of an e-commerce website for Temperley London.
My concept, 'The Layers of Love' is based on the attention to detail and love that Temperley invest in each of their dresses, bags and accessories. The idea that you don't just buy a Temperley dress because you think it's 'nice', but that you fall in love with it. The layers of detail, inspiration and love that go into each collection are experienced when the dress is worn.
Within the execution of this route, I wanted to avoid the usual Polaroid type framing of images, and unable to spend the time cropping out each of the images from it's background, my solution for framing the images was to mask into each of them using a petal effect. This meshed well with the concept, looks interesting, and does not get in the way of usability. This format is also easily editable via a CMS.
The orange tint in some of the screens is used to make sure that when the menu is bought up, it is always visible and does not blend in with the background. This is also suposed to bring in the kind of imperfections that can make something great (ie: analog rather than digital photography).
